We have the Imperial Blue from Denby since we got married 10 years ago and it's still going strong. Just had to replace a couple of broken mugs and been able to add serving dishes to match over the years

Hi we have Denby in linen & love it, so far has survived a battering & is still chip free. Check out tesco club card rewards think they have an offer on.

historyrepeats · 13/02/2012 21:20

I really don't think denby is worth the money unless you buy the cheapo stuff. We got a set of the proper stuff a few years ago and loads has broken. The cheap stuff is as good if not better.

We are the same as dizzy - 10 years and still going strong!

We've had Denby Imperial Blue since WE got married, 20 years ago! I think it's well worth it - rarely chips and is still being made; I tend to top up plates when they are 20% off in Debenham's sale, but I can't tell which of our plates are still original ones and which are more recent replacements. And because it's so plain, it doesn't date and I don't get bored with it.

Tesco do Everyday Denby in blue & green. We have the black version. Very durable.

fossil97 · 16/02/2012 19:57

We have Denby Greenwich. They are always mailing me 50% off sales and stuff in it, I have found it pretty hardwearing. Even though it has Married In The 1990's written all over it! I've been given to understand it's v unlikely to be discontinued. You can kit yourself out from seconds as well.

I don't understand about cheap stuff/proper stuff? The durable Denby is the stoneware ranges. First and Second quality are the same except normally small glazing faults. They have brought out a few ranges in porcelain/china: the White, the Monsoon etc, I don't imagine those are as hardwearing.

Denby is bloody indestructible. So worth it. DH was throwing some leftovers to the birds in the garden the other day and somehow flung the plate onto onto the concrete driveway, and it just bounced - not a mark on it. I'm always crashing the plates into taps etc and the whole set has survived completely intact.

lol to 'married in the 90's' - so true.

BobbinRobin · 17/02/2012 22:38

it's the Greenwich range btw

bramblina · 17/02/2012 22:44

I'm totally with fossil97, love my Greenwich, love being able to buy 1 or 2 plates/mugs/whatever we're low on (think we're pretty damn hard on it tbh) and although it's not as striking as some dinner services, it's classic enough that it therefore won't really date either.

Ahem- I got married in '01 though Blush perhaps I made an old fashioned choice....?!
ps, fossil97 do you have to register with Denby to get the 50% offers? My local hardware has a constant 20% with the occasional 15% on top of that but would love a 50% Grin

BiscuitNibbler · 17/02/2012 22:49

Imperial Blue here for just over 5 years and it is wearing very well despite clumsy DH.

Clayhead · 17/02/2012 23:00

We've had Imperial Blue for fifteen years - try the outlet shops, they often have 50% off offers.

fossil97 · 18/02/2012 14:23

yes register with them and get on the mailing list
