I have come up with an idea that will (hopefully) help me get on top of my housework

I have decided to pay myself to do it. We are currently saving for a puppy and have allocated a certain amount for every room i do and load of washing. Every time i do something then i will put that amount into the pet fund. Like £1 for every load of washing etc. Im hoping dd will join in as there is £3 allocated for her bedroom and she loves putting money in the fund. Wish me luck cos it all starts tomorrow

I have just got one of those money tins that you have to use a can opener to get the money out. if you did that you wouldn't be tempted to dip into it.

So far i have a tidy kitchen (couple things to go in dishwasher). Wahed and put away 2 loads of washing with another load in the machine and the living room is getting there (only to be undone seconds later) and in our puppy fund we have about £20 since monday. Think this is working out nicely :)

Well done! This is a great idea. I might expand it though - every time I do a chore DP has to pay me and everytime he does something I will pay him!!
