I just want --the moon on a stick-- a nice big rug that's cheap but interesting.

I like this one from Ikea but it's sold out in my local store -
www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70151707/

And I don't want to pay the £7 postage to have it arrive after Christmas.

I've looked at John Lewis, M&S, Habitat, ebay. Does anyone know anywhere I can get something unusual that doesn't cost the earth or look boring please?

I was going to suggest that rug from Ikea before I clicked on the link.
We have it in our conservatory. It is a lovely rug, well worth the money, even the extra for postage.

We got the similar www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30151709/ and it's really nice, much better once it's down in our living room than it looks online. We have cream carpets so wanted something that would look good but not show up babysick stains as badly!

HomeSense - the home ware side of TK Max often do unusual rugs that are very reasonable - not sure if they are near you

have you looked at The Rug Seller website? Loads of choice there. I bought a Brink & Campman rug (Xian pattern, in comic in the red/orange/cream/grey, if you're interested!) and its really bright and interesting. The bigger the rug, the more expensive.

Have a look in the Designer Rug section, and then click on Brink and Campman.

I have that rug and can honestly say it's the best (and yet cheapest rug we've ever had) it doesn't seem to attract dirt and fluff like some rugs do, the last one I was forever hoovering it but it still looked awful. We also got the underlay to stop it sliding about.

We did consider getting the one Rockchick has but were put off by the cream background, it would never stay clean in this house!
