Got the keys today...yay!

Anyway, there is a chrome/stainless steel heated towel rail ( I know, how swanky!) and chrome/stainless steel towel holder x 2 that are coated with...stuff. Its sort of white and grimy looking?

How can I clean them? What with?

TIA!

E-cloth.

A damp one initially to get the muck off - is it limescale, or water stains or something?

And then a dry one to polish.

I clean my chrome stuff with glass/window cleaning stuff.

I am really not sure what it is tbh...as its a bathroom I figured it could be water stains/limescale? Bathroom not that old...only refitted last year.

Great minds Ali Wink I love my ecloth, tis a thing of wonder!!

For extra shineyness I use a spot of baby oil on kitchen roll for a streak free finish!

If the white stuff doesn't come off with just water, try a little bit of lemon juice.

Becaroooodolf · 30/11/2011 21:44

ah...would the lemon juice work on the limescale on the kitchen tap too???

It would!! Something from my dim and distant past says lemon jouce would "melt" the limescale. Acid v Alkeli(sp?)

But I have never had to use this method as I live in Scotland with soft water!

Bec - I sometimes stick half a lemon over the ends of my taps and that gets the limescale better than anything.

Fizz - I am sooo jealous. Life is a constant battle against limescale here. My cleaner comes once a fortnight and zaps it all, but inbetween I have to use an e-cloth regularly else a massive crust builds up again.

Ah! I will try that ali I prefer natural methods if poss (old hippy!)
