stinky microwave oven... any recommendations for ways to get rid of the smell

We have a combi-microwave oven which has started smelling rather. Has anyone got any sure fire cleaning tips to get rid of the smell? Google searches suggest vinegar or baking soda but would like to have some MN tried and tested tips first before I pickle the oven...

you could use a lemon

Bowl of water, Half a lemon/lemon juice. Heat in micro for three mins. Do not open the door and let it steam for 10 mins. Then wipe with a clean cloth. Smells lovely and is SO easy to clean.

I have heard of putting lemon slices in a bowl of water and then microwaving it.
