Is my gravel chavvy?

We have an area of about 8ft x 6ft behind the garage which is due to be gravelled tomorrow. I've ordered dark pink gravel, which I thought would be pretty, but DP thinks it might look very chavvy.

Opinions please! Thanks. :)

I like it. But I have tendencies towards bright and tacky shiny things.

If you like it OP then that is all that matters.

What would Colin and Justin do?
What would Lawrence Llewellan-I'm so-camp-and-up-myself-Bowen do?

Do the opposite

If C&J did a make-over on my house I would cry.And smack them. And gut my house.

I don't mind the gravel. I don't have a croydon facelift / wear trackie bottoms constantly, and I have a tertiary education so as far as I know, am not a chav.

However I think the point about resale of the house (so go for bog standard grey) is a good one. I am having my kitchen redone atm and have gone quite neutral - largely because this isn't our 'forever house' and we will sell in 4-5 years time...

I would think it depends on the colour of your house and shrubbery.

Yeah, go for a more neutral colour - less risk of a buyer not liking it.

i knew he'd be from glasgow, the reason he thinks its shabby is because the councils and cheap builders in glasgow and surrounding areas tend to use this gravel, it doesn't look bad, although i would prefer a beige colour gravel. it wouldn't be enough to put me off buying a house though & im also from glasgow
