shockingly, the dd's bath toys are now sufficiently mouldy as to be giving off a rather musty smell. the foam letters are currently bathing in Milton, but thus far they're not looking good. is there anything else i can try?

Squeeze ones - bin

Anything else - in the dishwasher

Ditch the foam letters, they'll never be the same. Hard toys can have a bath in Milton or vinegar.

i thought as much. RIP foam letters. we'll restock at the weekend.
sadly no dishwasher here.

No good to you now, but for new ones, rinse well after each bath and once a fortnight or so, soak in Milton. Dry them on a rack or similar ( I've old bun cooling trays for that) so they don't sit in damp conditions.
