Is there such a thing as a loft bed which will allow ds1 to sleep in it without pressing his nose on the ceiling?

I have been looking at loft/cabin/midsleeper beds and don't seem to be able to find a high bed that's not too high for the ceilings in the room IYKWIM.

I need something that's no more than about 150cm high (most I've seen are around 180cm).

Ikea do loft beds but ds1 would need to be Flat Stanley to sleep in!! Or do I just need to cut a hole in the ceiling??

We have an Ikea high sleeper which we got off a friend. The husband had sawed all legs to make it a foot shorter.

That thought did cross my mind Babieseverywhere, but I can just imagine how hard it is to saw the legs evenly!

Ah, just a bit more on this leg, ooooops, now you'll have to even it up, oh dear, it's too short on this side now.

And before we know it, we have a cabin bed LOL

LOL, that would of happened if we had done it but as it is, it does not wobble.

Forgot to say that I would maybe also consider one with a double bed underneath or a sofa/bed. But would prefer without

There's a company on ebay who will do custom heights on loft beds if you email them.

I haven't used them myself but I plan to get one of their double loft beds once we have enough space to build one...

There are highsleepers which aren't too high. I first bough DS1 one from IKEA but I couldn't sit up in it myself and DS1 hated it, but I found a less tall one on ebay and he loves it.

Can't do links but search on thuka shorty range, height is 146cm. company that stocks them is rainbow wood, just got my dd a bed from them.

me and dh have one and dh had to saw the legs slightly. Ours is Ikea too.

We have a flexa mid sleeper - same effect but slightly lower!

i have just bought this one for my dd.

it's 173cm tall not sure if that is way too much. The reviews look good and it's sturdy. I thought of getting a wooden one but I think they can overpower a small space.

Look for midsleepers instead. Thuka and Flexa seem popular.
