Interiors people - would this look ok or a bit rubbish?

I had a carpenter build a window seat in a bay window a while back, and I have not painted or furnished it yet.

I've measured up the seat and it's about 150cm wide. I think two pillows would fit on it perfectly. Would it look stupid to buy two pillows and pretty pillow cases and use them as the cushions/ pads for the window seat?

I've been thinking of buying a custom made foam pad and covering it myself, but I'm no seamstress, plus the foam is pretty expensive.

What do you think - any advice?

It might look a bit odd tbh. If you don't want to/can't do a seat pad then you'd be better off just painting it and then using throw cushions along the back. That would look nicer imo than pillows as the actual seat cushions.

Thanks Pip, I wasn't sure - I'll keep my eyes out for some foam.

you can get reasonable foam online. I have done something similar using efoam. Very quick delivery. Will hold shape better than pillows.

I'd put cushions on it.

definitely foam as it'll hold shape and not look like two..... err...... pillows Grin

can't believe foam is expensive in the UK.....I live overseas and foam is really cheap here....you just go to a rubbishy fabric shop and it gets cut up for you.....that doesn't really help you sorry, but have you tried yellow pages for mattress cutters
