I'm using an ant trap - kind of a plastic unit, with holes in the side that the ants wander into and get poisoned within. It says safe for pets and children. I got mine from Lakeland. No ants seen since I put it down...

Baking soda. Sprinkle it down where there are getting in.

I use bicarbonate of soda too. Its very cheap and always works here. I put tons down whereever I spot an ant, cos I hate them.

I love bicarb its brilliant for all sorts of stuff.

you can get safe to kids/animals stuff to line around the perimeter wall of the house to stop them getting in and then lay little ant traps as described above, which are sealed units.

However, I hadn't known about baking powder & sodium bicarb - so will be trying that now.

Vacuuming them up works well too - but do empty your vac or they just form little Dyson kingdoms Grin

doesn't kill the nests though whomoved. If they are in the skirting boards or similar - euw - shivering now - I hate ants!
