If you don't have an airing cupboard, where do you keep towels and sheets?

Ours is going - today. Need space in tiny room and getting a combi boiler. But where to put all the stuff that lives in there.

Do people have separate chest of drawers for these things?
Just don't know where we could put one!

I have wire shelving in half of the hall cupboard. top 2 sections are for bedding & towels, bottom 2 for shoes. I had to drastically cut down on the amount though. I have 1 change of bedding for each bed & 2 towels each plus 2 hand towels. All extras are now in the loft. Face cloths & bibs are in the kitchen with the tea towels.

When I lived in a small flat the we kept it in 2 baskets on top of the wardrobe.

I used to keep them in 2 lidded plastic roller boxes under the bed, but when we replaced our bed I made sure we got a divan with 4 drawers in.

In the camphor chest in the front room.

We have a hangy thing in the wardrobe of our spare room for towels

Then a chest for bedding.

And I have drawers under the bed for spare pillows etc.

I have one chest of drawers with 3 drawers.
first is for small towels and flannels
second for large towels and kitchen towels
third sheets and bedding
our airing cupboard is too damp to keep anything but a broom.

Wooden blanket box on the upstairs landing.

Two wicker baskets in the bottom of fitted wardrobe - one for towels and the other for bed linen

I have half a wardrobe with 3 shelves in (probably designed for knitwear). There's also a big space under the bottom shelf where I keep my shoes.

Wooden blanket type box, painted white and it lives at the end of our bath.

A plastic box under the bed in each room to hold bedding/towels etc for the room's occupant.

It's been like this since we moved in 4 years ago & DH still doesn't know where the towels live

In drawers under the bed.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 05/05/2011 20:34

We have these in the bedroom for all the bedsheets and blankets. They're a bit shit tbh, especially because the cat uses them as a scratching post!

And something that looks a bit like this (but it hasn't got a lid) in the bathroom full of towels.

eatyourveg · 05/05/2011 20:41

towels go with spare duvets in a wall cupboard on the landing
each bedroom has an underbed storage box with their own sheets/ pillowcases
( we have an airing cupboard too but thats for airing stuff not storing stuff)

tigana · 05/05/2011 20:45

towels live on little shelving unit in bathroom.
bedding goes in a big wickery chest at bottom of our bed, and DS bedding in a grim practical plastic box on wheels under our bed.

MoChan · 05/05/2011 20:50

Linen press/tallboy in the back lobby.

I have a weird shaped bedroom and I asked the builders to put doors on the (stupid) corner bit. Then my Dad put in a rail, a shelf and stacked up some old bathroom cabinets - the ones that go above head and door lifts up? But I put them on their side and now I stack them in there
