tips for getting rid of stains on mattresses anyone?

Sounds really gross doesnt it?

What should I scrub with for best results?

Mattress is cream coloured and staining is old yellowy blood... (from nosebleeds.... honest )

Cold water with salt worked for us, but stains were not old, so can't say whether this would definitely work, but we were really pleased with how quickly it came out!

Second cold water and salt. Only ever done on fresh blood though but worked well. I'd use a thick cloth/teatowel to rub out stain.
