what do you use soda crystals for?

have a large bag left over from my fishy bread board desaster.
what do I do with the rest?

at how excited i am about this thread...DM always insisted on having soda crystals in the cupboards & never knew why..now I do !

I have started to use it in the wash and it really makes a difference.

I thought they soda crystals and bicarbonate of soda were the same .

As a vegetarian, I particularly love tip number 54 in the above 'uses'...

I used to rub them on my plantar warts on my feet as a kid at boarding school and it got rid of them (thank you Sister Smith for that remedy).

penny then you might like the use of a soda solution to make german style soft pretzels.
the yeast dough is dunked into warm soda solution for a few seconds before baking.

After every shower when my feet were soft I would sit there and rub a big crystal into the wart for a few minutes. I did this every day. It worked better then freezing or banana skins.
You cant really wear a soda crystal as it would be like wearing a pebble.

Still, my plantar warts feel like I am wearing pebbles. Multiple pebbles.

if you put some in a bowl with water and a sheet of tin foil, you create a current in the water (you can actually see it)

pop in your silver, and leave a few minutes

et voila! clean silver!

Are soda crystals the same as Arm and Hammer washing soda?

As a natural weed killer on the drive, patio and decking. Gets rid of all the moss and slime. Sprinkle it on liberally then wet it lightly with a watering can. Leave for a day or so, then wash it away with cold water and a stiff brush.
