Maxi Cosi Cabrio Car Seat Cover - How do I get it off to wash?

Maybe I'm being really stupid about this - would be very grateful for help. Want to stick it in the wash before baby arrives in two days.

Have managed to gently ease it off the base but cannot for the life of me work out how to get the very front bit off. If seems to be held on by the strap at the front in the middle - the adjuster strap.

What am I doing wrong? Confused

The adjuster strap thing comes apart - not sure how as DH did it, but the piece with the button on comes off and then the whole fabric part comes away.

Thanks. Got round the button but the strap is looped through the cover and fixed onto the seat. Its all a bit Crystal Maze.

The strap itself is fixed to the rigid part of the seat. I don't know if it is supposed to come off but we just left it.

The only way I can see of getting it off and leaving the loop of strap in tact is to cut the cover. Does anyone have any tips?

Done it! Wiggle the very end of the loop on the strap - its held in place not by a solid bar of plastic but by two prongs that don't quite meet in the middle. Wiggle it off the prongs and pull through the cover.

Can you wash maxi coding car seat straps as they won't come off

daviduk · 28/09/2013 15:10

Take a look at this photo guide on how to do it:
dadbab.com/how-to/cabriofix-cover/

With the straps I find the best way is to use a babywipe or a sponge with fairy liquid and give them a good wipe. I wouldn't put them in the machine. We do machine wash our cover on delicates/woollen mode and had no issues.

emsyj / ShirtyGerty - please don't cut it! It does come off - see my photo guide linked to above :)

Have you tried putting it back on again? It's a bugger! I ended up buying this cover - soooo much easier to get on and off! They do a Pebble one too!

daviduk · 01/10/2013 22:27

Yep its not easy to get on but once you get the knack its fine. See guide above and it runs through it as well

Probably too late, but after taking off a pebble seat cover I swore I would never do it again, I'd rather buy a new seat. I lost 2 nails, several cuts to my fingers and wasted over an hour sweating over it. Never again!
