Stains on carpet look even worse now I've shampooed it - help!

I was all proactive last week, borrowed my friend's carpet cleaner and gave it a good clean. Carpet looks cleaner but stains (from before I moved in) look the same as before but on a clean carpet. Hmm

Any ideas on how I can get them out? It's a thin carpet, not a thick pile one, has concrete floor underneath, I still have the carpet cleaner.

Sorry I don't have ideas for you, but just to say I understand the frustraton! I have black hair dye stains on my pale carpet and don't thin they're ever going to go away :(

I used some dish detergent (ie Fairy Liquid but MUST be a clear one, not a green one) - about a teaspoon full in a bowl (salad bowl sized) and cleaned the dirty spots on our cream/beige carpet. Use a clean cloth and just rub in circles. Then rinse really well and blot with lots of dry tea towels.

Worked a treat and got rid of loads of stains from DS's toddler days Grin

Sainsbury's own brand carpet stain remover got 'Best Buy from Which Magazine. Might be worth a go. I have found it excellent on stains but hadn't shampood them first which may make a difference. Good Luck Smile

Try giving it a second going over, the first treatment could have just loosened it all and brought it to the surface, another go Might just take it all away.
