Has anyone else in London had this trouble??

I now have no shopping!
Call centres suggestion was I should only book deliveries outside of the restricted hours

WTF - which online grocery company? Ocado deliver to me fine parking wardens never fine them.

Ragwort · 02/02/2011 13:21

Surely it is reasonable to expect the driver to be able to park legally when he is making a delivery?

What did you expect the driver to do?

Have you had other deliveries?

(is there something on the order that asks about delivery restrictions - sorry, don't know much about internet shopping Grin)?

MmeLindt · 02/02/2011 13:24

What are the restrictions? Is it stopping to unload allowed or not?

EldonAve · 02/02/2011 13:38

It is permit or pay and display 930am til 530pm

It was Sainsburys
I've used them before with no problems, also Ocado & Asda

All other deliveries have been fine

I use Tesco and they just park in the middle of the road and let other drivers honk to their hearts' content! Was the main reason I got delivery back when we had restricted parking. If they're 'unloading' surely they aren't parked and not liable for tickets?

Bertina · 02/02/2011 13:56

Well you know not to use Sainsbury's again.

Most restricted parking areas allow loading and unloading though. Why don't you call the local council for some detailed information on whether that's allowed?

I think the driver was being a jobsworth tbh.

I've never had a problem with deliveries in restricted hours - have had permit only parking on my road for about 10 years!

EldonAve · 02/02/2011 15:14

Most delivery drivers just stop in a nearby space or block the road

I do have sympathy for the driver - he said they get their wages docked for each ticket

We are in CPZ so they just park in the middle of the street.
