Silly Putty- how to get it out of the carpet?!

My dd's silly putty was discovered under her dressing up box- completely stuck/ground in to the carpet!!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove it? I tried to get most of up with my fingernails, and a hot iron and paper, but it is well and truly stuck! And it has caused a slightly greasy mark tp appear around it.

Any tips/ideas would be most grateful.

Freeze it with ice - it goes brittle and then you can pick it off.

Alcohol will take off the greasy mark btw - vodka is good.

I never thought about ice you know!! Will give it a try tomorrow. And thankfully we have some vodka left too!!
