Pools of water under salad drawer in fridge - dull, but any ideas please?

Hi,

I think I'm being a bit thick because there is no obvious place the water is coming from. I have a built in fridge-freezer and fed up with the water under the salad draws. The fridge temp is 2 degrees.

Any ideas please? Confused

At the back of the fridge - probably in the middle is a little hole. It's blocked. Poke it with a chopstick (waits for someone to wander by and say 'not the pooey chopstick' Hmm).

Could be a blocked drainage thingy... There is a small hole right at the back/ bottom on mine and sometimes it blocks and then I get the same pools of water

sheeplikessleep · 25/01/2011 20:37

thank you thank you thank you. seriously, we have the same problem.

kittyfisherfoundit · 25/01/2011 20:37

Snap. Am too slow at typing on stupid iPod.

LadySanders · 25/01/2011 20:39

fridge is too cold. only needs to be about 5 degrees in summer and 6 in winter.

LadySanders · 25/01/2011 20:39

At the back of the fridge? You mean I need to pull it out - it's built in? Blush I'm cringing at my stupidity. I looked inside the fridge (at the back) and turned the temp up to 4...Confused

No pull out all the drawers and there will usually be a v shaped ridge, on the back inside of the fridge

The point of the v will be the drain, poke that with whomovedmychocolate's chopstick.

elfandsafeT · 25/01/2011 21:01

No on the inside back wall of the fridge behind the drawers/shelf

WherecanIhide · 25/01/2011 21:08

Thanks, I'll have to go and have another look...Blush

I can't fit a chopstick in mine.....I usually use a cocktail stick and wiggle it about a bit

TheWaterHorse · 26/01/2011 16:32

Ok, this is probably a very stupid question....but where does the drain actually drain to?

create · 26/01/2011 16:46

This happens to mine when dh someone doesn't close the door properly.

No idea where the water comes from though

flamingtoaster · 26/01/2011 16:51

The water drains out of the back into a small tray and then evaporates.

bronze · 26/01/2011 16:52

not the pooey chopstick!

We have the same problem and I've tried to clear the hole to no avail

WherecanIhide · 26/01/2011 17:11

I wondered where the water goes to, baring in mind the fridge is electric. BlushBlush

Still can't find little hole Confused

use a cotton bud to clean the hole...works a treat (I had a constant puddle (in my fridge!) for 12 months Blushthen read a thread on here about cleaning the drain...and the puddle has disappeared. You need to give it a good prod...mine was filthy!
Let us know how you get on...

WherecanIhide · 26/01/2011 21:24

Thankyou! Smile
