Think you'll find a multitude of Trofast and Expedit fans on here!

scurryfunge · 04/01/2011 15:26

I second the expedit range at Ikea.

bgt · 04/01/2011 15:44

do you know what the boxes are called at Dunelm which fit the expedit.

In addition to Trofast and Expedit in the playroom (conservatory in our case) we have the very cheap toybox that IKEA do (about £10) which has a lift-up lid (white and pinewood). Its very light so shouldn't be any accidents involving fingers. I have placed two of the sweet heart pillows ontop in my dd's room, for a boy I would buy something else to put onto (their star rug or someother pillow maybe). Its a great place to put things which isn't in constant use (such as that in the conservatory) and with the pillows it looks nice in the room too. Shelving is also cheap and cheerful in IKEA. Get some simple ones and make them more fun with animal bookends. Place a few hooks underneath with either clothes hanging on them or as in our case pictures/decoration. Lots of fun to be had!

Ikea wardrobe with two big shelves at top, plastic crates on those shelves hold lots of clothes to grow into and swim toys.

Under boys bed are 2 or 3 plastic crates with toys in ( or not) and he has a "toy cupboard" about 90cm x 40 cm and about 90cm high which that was scavenged so no idea where its from.

I have several pop at linen baskets for soft toys, dolls etc (£2.50 primark) also have recently bought 2 big storage boxes with lids(110L from asda) for £7.50 each reduced from £15 Grin. They have several plastic boxes with lids that I stack on top of each other

Yep, trofast and billy here. I have worked out I can fit another 3 billy bookcases into dd's room, cue great joy. I also have some pop-up toy bins.

We use plastic drawer units (ours are from Next and Asda) and stacked clear plastic boxes with lids - these all go inside their fitted wardrobes. Small sets go in the plastic drawers, big items or things we have a lot of (eg Lego) go in the plastic boxes.
We use pop up laundry baskets for dressing up clothes.
We use a hammock for soft toys.
We use an open book shelf for books, obviously, and keep the Playmobil castle and Pirate Ship on the top of it.
Their clothes go in a chest of drawers or hang in the wardrobe.
We make sure every piece of furniture has maximum storage. We had to get ds a bedside table recently so we got him the blue fabric one from Next that has lots of drawers in it.

We have a trofast, different box for each different type of toy. Few bigger toys sit on top of that. Then a big drawer under the bunks for the trainset. A desk with three drawers for paper/pens etc. And one of those little shelf things with fabric baskets for some of the smaller collections of toys (barbies, polly pockets, ponies, party bag crap type stuff). A big bag for dressing up stuff. And a box with activity/sticker books in.

Then downstairs I have a bookcase for books, another for games and puzzles, on top of one bookcase a lazy susan with mini bite tubs on with colouring pencils, chalk and crayons in. Also the children's scissors. And that big square ikea toybox with a few random things in.

I only have two children Blush
