Hi all. Just back from gynaecologist's and snaffling a late sandwich at my desk and though I'd pop in to see what everyone is up to.
Sorry you are having such a hard time at work Darts. It's sod's law isn't it? The office always explodes when things are doubly busy at home. You sneaked-peaked your present from dh
. How thoroughly sensible scurrilous of you!!
Good luck with the dust Swan cleaning up after builders is the pits.
Oh noooo!! Pushme How awful for you!! That would be exhausting at the best of times, never mind in late pregnancy. I hope you are ok and can rest up a bit this week.
Good luck with your lists Deck Feetheart Namechange and MrsDingDong (hope you ds feels better soon and that you manage to catch up on some sleep)
Good luck with OC tonight Ellie and more power to your elbow and all that
Linzer sorry to hear that your ds is poorly and that you didn't get any answers from ENT this morning. How frustrating for you.
A very warm welcome to Architien. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Mum2Blaire I have a cj and I find it useful. It contains my list of routines, list of jobs that I do weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months and annually (not that I always do them but they are listed
). Also meal planning details + on-line food shopping details and emergency numbers of doctors, vets, gas, plumber etc etc. It also includes routines for looking after guinea pigs and looking after/locking up house. As you say, those sorts of details are very useful to hand over to a house sitter when you are away or in the event of an emergency (such as burst pipe or some such). It also contains useful bits of info such as laundry symbols and stain removing tips and stuff like that. I would tell you more but I actually can't find mine at the moment because I'm chronically untidy it tends to move around the house
. I'll let you know if there's anything I've missed out once I can put my hand on it!
Toffee Feel a bit
about it tbh (as an RC I'm not supposed to believe in ghosts) but I definitely have 'seen' and 'felt' him or 'something'! He's a young lad - slightly older than adolescent I think, thinnish with long legs and floppy hair - and he was sitting on the floor casually reading a book in a storage room at the end of a corridor - one leg bent up. He just calmly looked up at me as I dashed past (into dd's room at night - she was crying in her sleep) and he then calmly looked down again at his book. I barely registered him as it was happening (I was focused on dd) then freaked out 30 seconds later as I had to go back past the same place (which I did - firmly looking the other way). Got back downstairs and thought "oh no, I've left my daughter on the same floor as some strange "presence" and forced myself - gritted teeth - back up the stairs. Nothing to be seen of course. I haven't actually 'seen' much of him again - just a dark amorphous 'form' in the kitchen in the middle of one night but I have definitely 'felt' him. You know how you know when someone comes in to the room behind you even though you can't see them. It's that kind of feeling. I don't think he's particularly harmful - I'm perfectly happy sleeping here by myself when dh is away - but dd comes down in to our room and sleeps on a "put-you-up" bed on those occasions now! He's not here all the time either. He comes and goes. The house is old, large and creaky and the previous owner (whose family had lived here since 1910) sheltered RAF fighter pilots here in the roof during the war (even though there was an SS station 300 metres up the road). I've often wondered if "he" is connected to that and have been meaning to do some research - ask the Imperial War museum or some'at.
OK - now you will all think I am completely mad - or drunk ...[takes another swig of Darts brandy]
Mahooosive waves to everyone else! [Hope you are still r&r-ing PA - well as much as poss at this time of year]
