December's Fledgling Flyers: Christmas time, swish and swipe and wine, flyers sing to the fat fairy rhyme.

Welcome to the December Fledgling Flying thread.

From the 1st of the month we shall be decluttering and taming the chaos using baby steps, missions and zones. A great big thank you to DEM/DID who looked after us last month and did a fantabulous job

We are not strict followers of the fat fairy and take some of the babysteps wearing shoes indoors with a pinch of salt. Also advise against signing up for the fairy's emails.

All are welcome, jump on board for one of our three methods of chaos attack:

  1. Baby steps
  2. Baby steps and 15mins decluttering in current zone
  3. Re-inforce the baby steps and daily mission

This month the fat fairy is gearing up for the feastive period. So I shall also post the christmas mission for those who wish are brave enough to look.

In here the motto is:

*"No perfection! Do what you can, but be realistic about what you can do."

Happy flying.

You could have something there, although think the thread title needs to have the words Fledgling and Flyers in it.

January's Here, Happy New Year, Fly with the Fledglings to get clutter clear.

MrsDingDongMerrily · 31/12/2010 14:44

Or January's Here, Happy New Year, Fly with the Fledglings, Watch the Clutter Disappear.

ToffeeChristmascake · 31/12/2010 14:45

Just dashing in to check thread.

Arabella - not at all. You were very helpful and I appreciate it Xmas Smile.

Dreamteam and MrsDing - oooh, keep those ideas coming. I am very uninspired re thread title.

Just off to enjoy hot chocolate in a cafe with a lovely friend who has just come back from her long Xmas break. Leaving the boys watching a film with MIL.

Xmas Grin

Oooh MrsD I am liking

January's Here, Happy New Year, Fly with the Fledglings to get clutter clear.

You are right- I forgot the Fledgling bit. Blush

PositiveAttitude · 31/12/2010 16:22

Loving that MrsD. Grin

I've had an interesting day, so far!!
Dh's work phoned him 4 times between 2am and 5am, so disturbed night!! {grrrrrr}

Up at 8am to get to the supermarket before the crowds so that I didnt have to queue. Did the shopping.
Home to unpack bags,
Sorted all the washing
Washing machine unloaded and reloaded
Dishwasher unloaded and reloaded
Kitchen sparkling clean
Wetroom cleaned

Sat down to relax for 5 minutes when friends from abroad arrived unexpectedly, which was lovely. Did a lunch for them - good job I went shopping early!
DD2 managed to drag herself downstairs just after midday to announce that she had arranged for her friends to come round here for drinks and nibbles before heading off for a new year party tonight. Alcohol levels are seriously diminished, so sent her off for supplies and more nibbles.
DS then announced that he had invited some friends round for an x-box-a -thon and what could they eat and drink!!
Hmm Hmm Hmm I think I need to get baking again, or this could become very expensive!!

Soooo my lovely tidy house has a load of testosterone fuelled 14-15 year old noisily lazing around.
Another room has six 18year old girls already beautifying for tonights parties and males expected later.
Its not going to be tidy for long and already the fridge looks as if the locusts have arrived - bloomin teenage boys, they have hollow legs!!!

ToffeeChristmascake · 31/12/2010 16:43

I like your joint effort, Dream and MrsD. If there are no more suggestions, I'll go with:

January's Here, Happy New Year, Fly with the Fledglings to get clutter clear

Or should it be Happy New Year, January's here....? (or am I being too pedantic now? Xmas Confused)

PA - I have just been sitting next to a table full of teenagers in the cafe where I met up with a friend. They were like very large toddlers. They were very loud, couldn't sit still, seemed to spread a lot of junk everywhere and ate a huge amount. But they were also very entertaining, so I can imagine you will have a lot of fun in your house tonight Xmas Smile.

Being distracted by DS1, who keeps trying to climb on me, so will come back later.

LinzerChristkindlmarkt · 31/12/2010 17:07

Great thread title DTG and MrsD. Xmas Grin Must admit I prefer the version starting with Happy New Year Toffee, but then I'm often too much of a pedant as well. Xmas Blush

Had been hoping to catch up a bit more with the thread, but DH has just stuck his head round the door and asked what I'm doing on the computer "the whole time" so must go... will try to come back later, though!

MrsDinky · 31/12/2010 18:50

We're going out for our first NYE party since DS was born, to a party at friends just along the road. DCs are coming too, will be interesting to see how they bear up!

Anyway, before I go and start getting ready, just wanted to say Happy New Year everyone.

I have loved being on this thread with you all this year and am looking forward to carrying on next year (looking at the state of the house I am going to be on this thread indefinitely!)

droitwichmummy · 31/12/2010 19:06

Happy New Year Fledglings!

Marking my place on this thread so I don't miss the new one.

See you tomorrow.

MiniMarmite · 31/12/2010 19:16

Happy New Year fellow fledgelings, can't believe the thread will be going into its second year! It has been great chatting with you all and I've even done the odd bit of flying along the way!

Unfortunately the house has descended into chaos over the Christmas period but I'm not even going to attempt to sort it out until DH goes back to work next week.

Love to you all and your families and wishing you all the very best for 2011 xxx

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2010 19:42

Just stikcing my head in to wish everyone a happy new year, pleasant festivities tonight and clear heads tomo.

MrsDinky · 31/12/2010 19:46

DWM - lovely to see you!

PositiveAttitude · 31/12/2010 19:51

My head is throbbing and I havent even started on the new year celebrations yet.

Toffee teenagers and toddlers are remarkably similar!! The room of burping and farting-- boys is now cleared and DH and DS have positioned themselves with the X-box now!! Hmm The girls are nearly ready. Maybe they will put on some more clothes before they go out, but I suspect not. Seriously, I am sure some of them have forgotten to put on bottom halves!! They dont cover their bums very well!!! I dont think my "have you got a coat" and "Is that ALL you are wearing?" comments went down too well. Hmm
I am sounding more and more like my mum...... oh dear!!!!

I did show them that I could beat them all (males and females)on singstar!! I AM singstar champ!!!!! Grin

HAppy new year to you all and see you on the January thread.

elliepac · 31/12/2010 21:59

ToffeeChristmascake · 31/12/2010 22:50

Sorry to interrupt the festivities, but I have started the new thread here. Hope I've done everything right. Ellie - do tell me if I've messed up (although, being a teacher, I'm sure you will do it in a positively reinforcing way Xmas Wink).

A very Happy New Year to everyone. This really is such a lovely, friendly, encouraging thread and it has been wonderful to get to know you all since I joined in the summer.
