Should be ok...ducks get wet don't they? But seriously dry and fluff, and fluff, and fluff....voila clean pillow.

I did wash a feather pillow once it did not break anything but dry it really thoroughly (if you do not own a tumble direr dry it in a launderette) or it will stink horribly. you can add a couple of tennis balls in the drier to fluff it as it dries.

I have feather pillows which I wash all the time....am I not supposed to Confused they are always fine though

TheProvincialLady · 23/11/2010 07:26

I wash and dry my feather pillows all the time. The smell whilst drying is horrible but you do need to dry them.

lol was going to say... it will be fine! feather pillows and duvets are machine washable

word of warning tho, they do tend to really stink unless you dry them quickly. come up beautifully in a tumble dryer tho!

OnlyWantsOne · 23/11/2010 09:37

I have put it on my heated airer in airing cupboard, will check on it at lunch if still not dry will try and work out how to put tuble dryer on (in washing machine have never used it!!)

I wouldn't bother tumble drying in a washer/drier as they work on steam and don't dry thoroughly IMHO. I'd take it to a launderette and tumble dry it.
