ds2 has done his little task Smile of putting soft toys away, others have done the errand, so I think I can stop being cross now...

now I think I'm just going to find my Oyster card and get out of here before I find anything else to feel cross about.
What a beautiful day!

Garden looking good. Hope you had a good day?

swanriver · 25/10/2010 17:50

we went to Hyde Park long long walk(dh went back to work after pizza in Mayfair Grin
then Princess Diana playground (a bit ofo a nightmare that place but easier since they are older - just too crowded)
purchased witch's broom back on our high street although I'm sure I couldhave made one of all the twigs we have Hmm fancy feathery witch outfit for dd, a viking helmet for ds2 and a axe (viking ghost - can then be converted to Horrendous hHICCUP for world book day)

very badly behaved on bus home [sigh] despite all that running around, now back in nice warm cosy house, cobblng together tea.

What did you do in garden nutty lots of tidying and raking? Presumably no extension in spring means you can make plans for it to be nice now for a while

Makingchanges · 25/10/2010 18:11

Evening all

Thought I'd pop in and say hi cos I haven't been here for ages. Been ill now for soooooo long, back and forwards to hospital and now on anti-depressants so not too good.

House is here somewhere under a pile of dirty washing, mess and untidiness. My aim for the holiday is to pass my teacher training tests and to get some hold on the houework, so I thought i'd pop in for inspiration.

Are you all well?

swanriver · 25/10/2010 18:30

oh dear MC I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time
I know you will pass the tests, remember how you felt when you took that exam in all that snow and ice..and you passed then.
How's dd? I hope she's making you feel a bit better and the gps are helping.

anyway my house is certainly not tidy.

OverflowingMum · 25/10/2010 20:25

evening all

MC oh, sorry to hear you've not been well. I hope things start to pick up for you.

nutty garden souonds good....if only I could get round to sorting my garden again....sigh...I used to love gardening...

right, well not a bad day. Was at work, but easier as DH at home on half term so no mad running round this morning....
Have also heard that they are extending my temp contract (due to end Dec) to March...so thats good Grin

Then had nice 4 mile run....now chilling on sofa till bedtime!!
Working till 2 tomorrow, then have rest of week off...thank flip!

House in total chaos, but can wait till after work tomorrow!

swanriver · 26/10/2010 09:12

Off to Kew Gardens this morning with a friend

SimplySparkling · 26/10/2010 09:16

Thanks for the thread Jas. Hello to all.

Thanks for the sympathy for my finger injury. It is healing now.

MC It's good to see you. Be kind to yourself and just take things bit by bit. Do pop on here so we can encourage you if you've the time to do so. Smile

OverflowingMum I am struggling with your words "nice 4 mile run". Sorry, I just don't get them, no matter how hard I try. Wink I'm glad to hear that your contract is being extended.

Right. I'd best get showered. Back later!

swanriver · 26/10/2010 09:24

OFM work is obviously going well if they are extending your contract - that's marvellous Smile

funtimewincies · 26/10/2010 11:05

Morning chaps Grin. Good news about your contract OFM and just to echo the others about taking care of yourself MC.

Well, it's tipping it down here, both boys have colds (to compliment ds2's teething) and dh has gone abroad with work for a few days, so I'm making us a comforting cauliflower-cheesy-bacony-pasta-thing Confused to cheer us up. Not exactly the healthy option, but as ds1 is built like a whippet I don't feel too guilty Grin.

The weekend (db and dsil visiting) was lovely and they've taken vast quantities of baby clothes and stuff with them. Mixed feelings, knowing that we don't need it, but we don't have the money, space or strength (waves shyly to anyone who knows me from the conception and mc threads) for another baby.

Anyway, today's list...
Clear kitchen and dishwasher done
Wash children's bedding done
Tumble last night's load done
Make cauliflower cheese thing for lunch in progress
Make beds and tidy bedrooms done
Hoover lounge
Hoover and dust stairs and banisters
Internet food shop
Find pumpkin recipe for w/e

[collapses]
wet cold and all walked out

extremely dismal outside

Nuttybear · 26/10/2010 18:09

Hi, Wet and cold around here! Big walk to my Dbrother's house. 9 kids 4 adults some kids enjoyed it more than others all home safely! Ds and friend trying to destory the house. So must go Blush

OverflowingMum · 26/10/2010 19:38

evening folks....

simply I am actually loving running these days...I know, never thought I'd hear myself say those words either LOL But apart from the getting fit, it is a really good excuse to get out of the house for 30-60 mins for a bit of peace and quiet LOL Wink

nutty gosh... 9 kids and 4 adults....Shock mind you, still a better adult:child ratio than in the overflowing household LOL

swan sorry to hear you're wet and dismal....

Funtime impressive list...well done

mc how are you doing today?

well finished work at 1 today, and managed to leave on time for once...now off till Monday ...whoohoo
Mind you have lots of running round after dc to do..DD3 has psychology appointment tomorrow, opticians on Friday, Bday party etc....
have also promised little ones we'll do some "fun halloween arts and craft stuff" so best get my thinking cap on....

right, BBtomorrowGrin

wendyhappysmile · 27/10/2010 09:06

Hi all
Makingchanges sorry to hear you're having a hard time Sad. As everyone says, be kind to yourself.

OFM good news on the contract.

I am fine, feeling very tired suddenly though, sure the baby has engaged as there is a lot of pressure in the pelvic region, I feel like I'm going to go pop at any minute! I remember last time when I had DD my DS still went to the childminder 3 days a week until after the baby was born, and I spent from Oct half term when I gave up work til Nov 22 when she was born sleeping on those three days! LOL. Plus DS had a two hour nap still and I used to sleep then too. I just need a lot of sleep, normally, so sure it's worse in pregnancy!

36 weeks today!

Not sure what to do this moring. DC being lovely so far Smile - horrid yesterday!

swanriver · 27/10/2010 10:35

dd has friend over, yesterday's manic exercise paid off, all playing nicely on Halloween banner (how do you spell Halloween mum? - brief explanation about dropped v)

the only thing is we are flying off this afternoon (how did that happen - I'm mad aren't I?)
dh is still at work though,so no rush to leave house beautiful or worry about cats

and I've found my mobile, suuch a relief Wink

Wendy I remember the relief of running around playing football with ds in garden 2 weeks after babies born (okay that was a brief interlude - I soon stopped all that) just to be able to run around again was heaven after being pregnant and waddling.

Makingchanges · 27/10/2010 11:56

Morning all

Had a lovely morning so far as DD requested a PJ day so she is happily playing with play dough and I have had a cup of tea laid peacefully on the settee, unfortunatly now have to get something done.

Did my first teaching test yesterday numeracy, not my best but I passed (Yippee) so now I have to revise today for ICT and literacy. Was going to cancel at the beginning of the week but figured just get them done and if I don't pass I can resit.

Still struggling with the side-effects of ADs - Been on them one week today still a little shaky and queasy but better than I was.

Jobs to do today

  • Washing (in and On)
  • Yesterdays washing to dry
  • Revise for ICT and Literacy
  • Sort out uni school folder for school practise next week
  • Lesson planning for first week
  • bins out
  • Find something in freezer for tea
  • Tidy lounge

That will do for today. Hope everyones DCs are enjoying the hols and not causing too much work

wendyhappysmile · 27/10/2010 14:47

Glad to hear you have been lying on the sofa Makingchanges and well done on passing the numeracy test!

Had a lovely walk round local lake and fed ducks, DC enjoyed splashing in the puddles. DS playing golf with my dad this afternoon, I am taking DD to a party. Currently she is watching Tinkerbell on DVD and I have

made tea
emptied and refilled dishwasher
put next load of washing out
tidied up

Right see you tomorrow

OverflowingMum · 27/10/2010 21:05

evening all
popping in briefly.....

MC your day sounds peaceful, the side effects of ant D's can be nasty to start with, but will wear off , and then the good bits klick in and you'll feel much better...hang in there. and whooohooo at passing you numkeracy test! well done you , and luck with the rest...as you say you can always redo if necessary...

wendy oh....I always HATED those last few weeks (and I always went 2 weeks over so they really stretched...)
hope you get a bit of rest....

well, have had a dashing round day today... had psychology app for dd3 this morning which went well.....

and...have a new dilema... have got an interview for a job I applied for...it is further away...and was advertised as full time, but I did tick option for part time when applying... have been to look around, and seems a very nice team, slightly prefer the details of what I would be doing there...and it's a permenant contract...
BUT my current post has just been extended till March...with more hopeful sounding prospects of permenant position afterwards...but not certain...but my current hours work well, and it is only 11 minutes drive from the kids school.....

Sooooo have to do some pondering over next couple of days...

Right, am off for a little glass of wine....(off work for rest of week, no appointments tomorrow so have premature Friday feeling!!)
see you all tomorrow [hgrin]

OverflowingMum · 27/10/2010 21:07

swan are you off to Eire? (or gone should I say!) was that last minute decision? Have fun wherever you've flown off too...see you when you get back! [hgrin]

Nuttybear · 28/10/2010 09:23

Morning all
Haven't even had a shower yet!
OFM It's difficult decide when applying for jobs now there are so many other factors to consider.
Every min travelling now is a waste of time. I've had my mental rest now in this office job and I'm now sooo bored! I'm not really suited to office work. Would like to go back to working with teenagers but... Hey! never mind.
MC Hope you'er feeling better? Well done on test. Can you now pop around to us and help me with my maths. Never need to really use it. I think I've lost it.
Wendy Put your feet up it will be manic soon! Hope the freezer is stocked up!
Right DH has gone off for the morning to get his hair cut. This takes hours as he travels to his old hairdresser who cuts his hair just so! (double crown and a strange wave in his hair demands this)
To do today.
Shower and dress (big deal today)
DS washed & ds
W/M on
More Thank you letters to do
Friends coming over at 11.30am. Play outdoors
Pizza, cinema.
Maybe pumpkin carving!
Planning for next week, to do, tonight
Have a good day![hgrin]

SimplySparkling · 28/10/2010 11:37

Hello to all.

I didn't come back on the other day but I'd meant to MC to say that I'd dedicated my motivation for the day to you and I'd done lots! If that makes no sense, it's down to dh's snoring last night. I'm barely human today. Anyway...I'm sure you get the gist. Hang on in there. Smile

OverflowingMum Good luck with the pondering!

Right. I'm off for a bit of a lie down. Ds has only just got up and dd only woke up an hour ago! Teenagers!

Makingchanges · 28/10/2010 14:49

Afternoon all

Have been for my other two teacher tests, Passed them both so they are all done and all passed first time!! I'm so relieved and its such a load off my mind.

Not really done much else today as had to take tram into and out of town so most of day travelling.

Feeling alot better today and had a fab day yesterday with DD who enjoyed her day in until her little friend came around so was lovely.

To do with rest of today

  • Chicken dinner for tea as have a chicken in the fridge that needs eating
  • To shops for other things to go with chicken dinner
  • Pick up DD from GPs
  • More lesson planning
  • Clean main bedroom
  • Run hoover around
  • Look for a journal article for next assignment

That will do its nearly 3 and the shops look like they will take me a while when I came past on the tram.

Hope you are all enjoying the autuminal weather
