Morning Smile

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 28/10/2010 20:06

evening all

I've had enough! Our car is in the garage...was badly poorly, and was meant to cost £500 to fix, which was horrendous enough, but have just heard now it will be £1500 which we just don't have. No idea what we will do, I can't get the kids to school, or get to work without it......don't know what we'll do....
and this is the car we only bought 12 months ago after our last car ,of only 9 months, blew up in France.....
It's just one thing after another. I'm so fed up......Sad

Oh dear OFM don't know what to say to that! you must need a very big car for your lot which is very expensive!

I'm fine today, a bit bad tempered with poor DH - who is being very annoying saying he has a cold, is tired, is fed up blah blah blah! In the meantime I am doing all the Xmas shopping, cleaning, washing, ironing, stocking of cupboards and freezers, preparations for two DC parties and birthdays AND baby's arrival, general household stuff etc as he never seems to have the time to do anything other than the minimum amount of washing up or something. HMPH!

Rant over.

OverflowingMum · 28/10/2010 21:48

oh Wendy have some un MN hugs... I remeber my DH having "Flu" when I was about 10 months pregnant once... and not being able to do anything other than watch the rugby....Hmm
You do sound very busy...sounds a bit nesting like to me Wink
Make sure you get some rest...

and yes, car needs to be big...8 seater LOL and it never had warranty as was second hand through private sale in first place (sure original owner was laughing all the way to the bank Hmm)
right...have resorted to opening more wine...not good but needs must LOL

Nuttybear · 29/10/2010 12:32

Wendy SadThey are annoying. DH broke his arm two weeks before DS was born and then a hip operation when he was 3 months old. What is it with men can they not just look after themselves and others. DH was crap at looking after me! OFM Maybe a horse and cart! But then the farmer might sell you a dud horse!

Sounds like we all share the pain of DH and their general crap-ness! I am harsh on him, I think he does more than his fair share really, given that he lets me lay in bed til 7.30 when the DC get up at 6.30, and gets them breakfasted and ready for school every morning. And he gives them their bath nearly every night, and reads them a story ... so I shouldn't moan. But I still do!

OFM with the state of my house, I don't think I'm nesting! I need to!

Spent the morning at play gym with DC - they enjoyed it. But had to ban DD from large wrist!! They put out several announcements whilst I was there on how fast it was, and there were loads of little ones crying!

Lunch needs making, bbl

dylsmum1998 · 29/10/2010 13:55

OFM Sad at the car probs. Mine needed a new battery last week after the first frost. Could have done without that expense

I have spent most of today doing jobs around the house waiting for a gas engineer to do our safety check. Wish he would hurry up I want to go and collect dc haven't seen them all week.

done;
decluttered living room
sorted dry washing
load washer
2 hours of ironing
hoovered living room
hoovered kitchen
made cakes
hoovered stairs
washed up
decluttered kitchen sides

to do
something with my hair
s&s bathrooms
tidy my room
empty washer

I also desperately need to do something with my garden it looks awful, not sure if that will get done today though it looks like it is going to be a big job.

Nuttybear · 29/10/2010 15:29

Afternoon......and another thing about DH he fills the kettle to the top when he is only making one cup of tea and then walkes away and boils it again if it didn't go off while he was standing there, he also leaves all the lights on in the house!! Oh! have we stopped slagging off DHs[hblush]
I thought I wasn't going to fly this week but Lovely Mum has Ds for the night and they are going to the circus this afternoon [hsmile]

I have had stupid Braxton Hicks all afternoon AGAIN, it's always after lunch! Think I ought to start eating less! LOL

scattyspice · 29/10/2010 18:38

Hi all. Sorry for the absence (again). Dh off for Mon/Tues then I've been working full days (nearly killed me Shock) Wed/Thurs/today. Dc LOVED the holiday club. DS has been playing with a boy with learning difficulties at the club, he realised that there was something different about this boy but couldn't work out what (and its quite hard to explain), he loved playing with him though (enjoyed his cheekiness I think Grin).

Hope MC and wendy are pacing yourselves.
Hope OFM can find a stash of cash down the back of the sofa Hmm.

Just to add that my dh injured his back at the end of my 1st preg Angry.

House a tip, cupboards bare, laundry basket overflowing! Hey Ho.

Nuttybear · 30/10/2010 17:48

Afternoon Nice to see you back Scatty I've missed you.
Wendy Yes we did go out but nothing special as the childfree night wasn't planned so we went to two pubs and came home. Got up at 9am this morning Shock
Well pumpkin has been carved and ds at a Hallowean party. i would love to hold one with adults and kids but my house won't hold both!
Ratatouille in the oven now will have later with jackets potates.
DH's mate staying the night. He is in the process of a divorce which of course he is finding it tought as he has three girls he loves. She has meet another man! Sad
I'm going to try and keep my mouth chat maybe send them down to the corner pub after dinner!

scattyspice · 30/10/2010 20:00

Sad nutty. BIL is coming to stay tomorrow, he is also going through divorce (no children though). Will probably try to send him to pub with dh too.

I got up at 7 Shock to collect a parcel from post office before getting haircut. Have bought DS a 2nd hand DS from Amazon for Xmas. Was a bit nervous but it is good, looks pretty new and is in original box with all instructions (luckily).

Done:
house bleugh (overdue from Mon Blush).
laundry x3
ironing
lots of washing up

Hope everyone having a happy halloween [hgrin]

dylsmum1998 · 30/10/2010 22:54

evening all, have been to party at friends this evening, then have come home to get the house ready for our halloween party tomorrow. Have put all the decs up, now just need to move all the bits and peices toys upstairs in the morning and do the cooking. and a quick pop to asda, may do that first so that its out of the way, for a few last bits and peices.

swanriver · 31/10/2010 08:55

I'm back!
Holiday in Eire was a success, although now I have a stinking cold.
Dd went to pony camp again for two days, and can now canter [woohooGrin and I think we all enjoyed the lovely scenery and walks, and just hanging out with the cousins/gps. Solo plane with three was not fun though. I can do it (and do it every year about 6 times) but it takes a lot out of me

Not feeling in the mood to now pull a halloween party out of the hat so to speak, we have a banner, and some costumes - dcs want MORE..
luckily clocks have gone back so there is an hour extra!

DH is in Berlin unfortunately.

swanriver · 31/10/2010 09:03

Nutty I need your teenage expertise to plan for the future! Your poor friend. Hope you can be a safe haven for him.
Dylsmum hope your party goes well [henvy]
Scatty I'm sorry about your BIL - is he the London BIL?

last day before application is set in stone!
still having dreams about putting academic school Ist choice, still not sure about mixed sex versus single! AARGH. Luckily too frightened of getting something techie wrong to change application.
ds is talkinga bout High School non-stop -he is so keen on the idea Smile

Nuttybear · 31/10/2010 09:49

Morning All,
Swan I love country walks never seem to plan enough of them in this family as we only have family in London. Spain & Canada is often out of our budget. Big tip re teenagers. They are the spawn of the devil at 13-14yrs. Hold on tight and send them to camps as much as possible. At about 16-17yrs they change back into normal humans. Don't brand them as anything negative at that age... they will grow out of it honest (except the truely feral children) Keep your children away from truely feral children! By sending them on camps....

Dylsmum I would love a halloween party [henvy]too maybe next year.
Scatty Did not say anything wrong to DH's mate. Mainly 'cause I fed him kept my mouth shut and sent them down the pub!
Well must crack on have a lovely halloween [hsmile]

swanriver · 31/10/2010 14:07

Nutty my sister is always sending her teenagers on camps - in fact I always thought that was why they were so truculent at home, but perhaps I am seeing things from wrong angle. My sis's theory is that you want to see as little of your parents as poss at that age. I fear that is the reason people send their kids to boarding school [she does infact send hers to boarding school]- a misguided belief they would much rather be with their peers. But....I may be wrong....

dd and ds1 love love love all camp type activities Grin

have done Halloween shopping, green sweets, ingredients for slime soup and a beard for ds1, and lots of other , things..
have also been to church, and given dcs lunch at Macdonalds.
feel completely exhausted now. Ds2 is quacking on some Macdonald's quacking log thing

scattyspice · 31/10/2010 14:55

swan Church/Macdonalds/halloween party sounds like a perfectly balanced lifestyle [hsmile].
nutty I think you have hit the nail on the head. Dnepnew (14) flips from good to evil and back again with such speed and little warning its hard to keep track.
dyl loving your halloween party weekend [hgrin]

Dh is listening to the football on the radio the commentator is very overexcited. I am wearing earmuffs [hgrin].

Done:
DS project
sainsburys
laundry
changed beds

To do:
ironing
make sandwiches
pack school/work bags
kids reading books
BIL coming (when?)

Have good parties all [hgrin].

Nuttybear · 01/11/2010 09:04
