OFM Sad good luck for your run tomorrow. Hope you find your routine soon. I got my uni timetable today. ITs ridiculous 9-6 3 days a week and 9-4 the other, and one day a week if I am in its 9-1. Sad don't know how I am going ot sort childcare out for that when XP gets a new job I'm not going to be getting in til 7pm poss a bit later. So won't see much of dc on the late ones either.

Kinda clouded over the fact I have really enjoyed my day.

Dyls.that sounds really hard. Have you any relatives around, or a childminder even who could do the extra bit? Does it get better next term or worse?

ofm sorry you are suffering too. V. impressed by your running. I'm sure your standards aren't low at all.
I just made the most horrid fish dish for supper - bring back Fish Fingers and oven chips. dd had another tantrum after Brownies Hmm.

Everyone has done homework, I've hoovered the house. Been to piano, taken ds2 to piano, put various laundry away..and that's it really Blush Not done any paperwork..

more horrid ss school meetings. It's like passport application just 10 times worse. All those bits of paper and references and having to visit every school. Dh is taking time off work, but now is flying into rages at info on different schools - the word "detention" has turned him into a raving revolutionary. The local non-faith high school is fine really, but (and a big but) no-one else is going there from our school. Anyway, just like passport application it is just a case of slogging away and filling in forms and finding certificates etc.

swanriver · 15/09/2010 23:04

wendy no, didn't get to see Eclipse. Fascinated to read S Meyer's advice about writing...write all the scenes you are interested in, then fill in the gaps later, rather than write a chronological narrative. Robert Pattinson grew up in this neck of woods! well, a posher neck..but I can imagine him walking over the Hammersmith Bridge now Shock

when is BS's birthday?

SimplySparkling · 16/09/2010 09:12

Hello to everyone. Just a short post from me as I'm not showered or dressed yet. I see grouchy is here. Am I allowed to call you an old regular like me, go? Wink Thank you overflowingmum for your welcoming message some weeks ago when I said I'd be back in Sept. That's it for now. Back later when I'm dressed. Smile

wendyhappysmile · 16/09/2010 09:42

Hello Simply nice to see you (take it you are the simply of old?! LOL)
swan applications sound really awful. Don't think I'll take advice from S Meyer on writing as I think the books are really badly written (even though I do find them compulsive!)!! Strange combo
ofm Poor you. hope you manage some equilibrium soon. Good luck on the run.
dyls that sounds really hard!

Tired again, couldn't sleep again (very unlike me but always happens in pregnancy!)
Going to do the washing, clean the bathroom, change the beds, phone about parties, then see if I have time for a nap! Soft play this aft so that's easy enough.

Nuttybear · 16/09/2010 11:18

swanriver · 16/09/2010 12:02

got distracted again by decluttering dd's bedroom...there is always more to do ALWAYS.
rearranged all her drawers so that school uniform, pants socks casual wear takes priority and she can put things away/find things. She always seems to have too many clothes, and then NOTHING to wear except lurex leggings.

now eating lunch, resisting urge to weigh myself till tomorrow morning (PLEASE NUTTY join the JEANS thread)

hope you got your jog in.
My tip for sheets etc is, change them whilst you are putting kids to bed, I chat and do sheets at same time. Ds1 is actually learning to put his own pillowcase on.

Nuttybear · 16/09/2010 12:11

ds linen changed done

OverflowingMum · 16/09/2010 18:00

evening all

swan yay for jogging round the block...boo for ss applications...horrible indeed, but actualy much more straight forward for subsequent siblings though....

nutty hope you got your run in

dyls gosh, timetable sounds hard. Hope you manage toget childcare sorted. Hang in there, it will be worth it in the end

wendy hope soft play was good and tiredness not too bad

simply lovely to see you back. How's things?

right...well totally mad busy day today. Stupidly arranged meeting at 2.00 today(not arranged by me grrr) which of course started late, then turned into a real nighmare, so I didnt leave till 3.00 instead of 2.30...so late for nursery pick up and then school pick up....sometimes life is just one big huge rush...sigh...
Have resolved to refuse to attend any more meetings starting at 2.00...as impossible to leave for 2.30...which is my official finish time...

anyway...home now, and no work tomorrow...
going to do some shopping tomorrow, then have to pack up stuff for going to Mum and Dad's at weekend, and my run....

house needs attention...but who knows when LOL

planning lazy evening as I'm shattered.

bbtomorrow Grin

dylsmum1998 · 16/09/2010 21:24

Swan when I contacted childminders in the summer before dd's dad was made redundant they were all unwilling to work before 8m and after 5.30 pm! Apart from 2 lovely ones who wouldn't be able to get to dd's school on time so she would need to go to after school club then they would collect her from there. I didn't really want to do that as soo many new carers for her. The only other family close enough to help work til 6 and after school club shuts at 5.25. So really not sure what I will do am hoping that perhaps some more childminders register before o have to worry. That is my timetable for the whole year. I am guessing when on placements it won;t be quite so bad, as I will need to stay in school for staff meetings etc but hopefullly will have a placement nearer to home.

OFM you are right it will be worth it in the end, I just hope I can get to the end! I keep telling myself its only 9 months, its only 9 months.
not good that the meeting was organised so close to your finish time. enjoy your lazy evening.

I can;t remember anything else sorry [bllush] will try and catch up at the weekend am so tired now

Morning all

Nice to see you back here SimplySmile
I am trying to get a new FLY routine, but not really getting there so far. I have a list on paper which I will work from today.

I did ask a couple of days ago, but was posting on last weeks thread, so no one saw itBlush....

PLEASE lovely FLY ladies. If you have a daily/weekly routine you work from that can be copied on to here, will you post it for me, so I can adapt and make my own.

All my old stuff was on the computer that died last year, and searching old threads is too time consuming.

ThankyouSmile

Nuttybear · 17/09/2010 09:33

Morning all Morning Jas Have someone fixing the mircowave now.
We had time for DS to do some reading before school. Eating an apple at the same time, stopped him from figetting which notmally drives me mad, then makes the whole thing a negative experience which I really don't want!
Didn't get my run in, I think I was making excuses to myself Sad

Beautiful day here Smile
back later with list

swanriver · 17/09/2010 11:35

Dyls - was listening to interesting programme about neuroscience of R4 last night (by mistake)tuned into it on TV Blush "Inside Mind of Five Year Old" all about how rhymes and memorizing poetry were the perfect way to re-inforce learning - phonological uptake etc. Also how children weren't wired for "expected" gold stars but for "random" gold stars - Gaming rather than regular rewards - ie: can anyone guess?... rather than let's all get the answer and we'll get a star... Fascinating stuff. Although you could say it's all pretty obvious really ConfusedWink

how is ds managing?

Ofm hope your run is going well am or pm?

done
paperwork
maverick ss has just put our school back on its feeder list YAY..however now wondering whether to go for school with German option rather than Spanish. Friend who is Spanish now is in a muddle about whether to chose the "German" option school. Bangs head against wall.

dh has been told he needs a horrible biopsy on 30th and then be told further prognosis, so things are v. worrying on that front. I tend to just stick my head in sand and just think I'll think about that tomorrow - I can't DO anything about this, just wait. But he is v. v. worried talking to consultant yest, who said it was likely to be cancer so this is hanging over us. It seems totally unreal. Ds's leg seems like a much more REAL problem. Thank goodness dh is enjoying work and children and we are getting on relatively well.

anyway enough wittering, back to work.
Done
4 pieces of paperwork, including talk to bank.

Nuttybear · 17/09/2010 11:52

swan Shock My heart goes out to you. What can I say... but keep busy.
Interesting stuff about neuroscience, maybe I could listen to playback on the PC.
Right have fanny'ed around long enough now.
so far
made beds done
2 X load washing 3rd cooking
bathroom tidy done
Kitchen tidy done
Long chat with sis.done
Swept kitchen floor done
D/W emptied & reloaded done
To do
Shopping list
Food shopping
bits shopping (oven light bulb)
SHOULD GO FOR A JOG but still avoiding it Blush

swanriver · 17/09/2010 12:08

nutty I'm fine, tis just dh..I sweat the small stuff but not usually the big stuff, strange I know, but can never take it in, just move forwards robotically, thinking Pollyanna thoughts. At the moment I am thinking it might be nice if dh is at home more and I get to spend some time with him, and maybe it will force him to think about the things he really enjoys doing and stop worrying about other stuff...Mad I know.xxx

swanriver · 17/09/2010 12:26

Also, have lost another Ib, admittedly did put it on again over summer, but still, shows a week is enough to make a difference. Normal eatng just no cakes and ale!

realitychick · 17/09/2010 14:33

Hi everyone.

Very impressed with all this jogging Swan, OFM and Nutty.

Been in bed with horrible bug for two days so house is a tip again, laundry overflowing again, but at least I got to read most of a book which I haven't done all year!

Done nothing all day except an internet shop and got guinea pigs out to play on grass because they'd been in their cage since I fell ill.

Still got to
shop for bread and milk
change and make beds
change towels and bathmats
do a wash
empty all the bins
make tea
hoover downstairs

swanriver · 17/09/2010 14:40

now found a ss which does Latin and German! It's a not so local comprehensive - but they said I had to put them top of the list to get in...Confused Talked to lady on phone who seemed to enjoy discussing things as much as the rest of my friends...aaargh...

off for brisk walk to post thingimijigs
sometimes its nice just to collapse, guinea pigs sound v. sweet Reality I can imagine them.. our cats are a bit too galumphing now..and they were so sweet when they used to frisk around in garden as young ones.

dylsmum1998 · 17/09/2010 20:26

Swan thinking of you and dh, that programm sounds very interesting wlll have to see if I can find it online.

Reality don't do too much today, you need to take it easy after being ill.

tidy
hoover
wash up
sort dry washing
load washer
unload washer
clean toilets
iron

realitychick · 18/09/2010 11:25

Morning all!

How's college going dyls?

Swan - the guinea pigs are very cute. They leap up in the air vertically when they are happy, and squeak and play chasey in and out of a cardboard tunnel.

Managed to get all that stuff done yesterday so the house is a bit better than it was.

Done:
breakfast
cleaned kitchen
hoovered
wash on
taught pupil

to do
go into town for various errands
hang out wet washing
bake birthday cake for my mum
wrap her pressies
tidy and clean living room
help kids tidy playroom
help kids clean out guinea pigs cage
help kids with homework and music practise
Go to work -evening shift

Makingchanges · 18/09/2010 13:32

Just flying by. Hope everyone is well. I was struck down by gaestronteritis (I have no idea how to spell that) on Mon evening and have therefore missed a few days of Uni - Major stress as told to make sure we don't miss any if at all poss. Ended up as hospital this morning as having chest pains - turns out they are muscle spasms from the illness. Just grabbing some toast then back to bed.

Dyls - I know what you mean about timetable - We are in til 5pm but then it take my 1.5 hours to get home in rush hour traffic. So setting off at 7.30 and getting in at 6.30. We should find out our schools for our first placement on Monday, and go to visit next Wednesday - madness as only been at uni two weeks eekk
