Hi there… venting type information needing post.
Private rented for 12 years. 5 different houses. I’ve had mould, damp, despicable landlords and a section 21. Managed to get on a rent to buy scheme with a housing association and thought all was wonderful. Almost 6 years on living in this property. I’m losing my mind due to factors such as really awful neighbours and a poorly built new build.
Trying to swap as it’s still in the rental period of the scheme but my house has a Section 106 local connection to the parish it’s in. And after 4 years on homeswapper only one person has met the criteria but they pulled out because they were happy to move before Christmas.
Does anyone know ways around section 106’s? My Housing association suggested going on the housing register. I didn’t get very far when my mum was threatening to kick me out when I was pregnant 17 years ago hence private renting for so long.
I know I am so lucky to have a roof over my head but my neighbours can shake the pictures on the walls 24/7.
