Hey ladies

New here. Was wondering if anyone can advise me. I currently am with south Northamptonshire council. I live in a 2 bed i have 2 children. My daughter soon to be 10 and son who will be 3.

I believe when my daughter is 10 i am eligible for a 3 bed. How do i go about this? Will the council get in touch with me?

We definitely need to move as our house is so small.

I currently pay full rent to grand union housing.

Contact your LA to see about being put on the housing list. You won't automatically be given a 3 bed but you will get points for overcrowding.

There's a 6 year gap between my boy/girl and they were 13 and 7 before we were given a new place, even then it was on to medical grounds as my eldest is Autistic so we got a letter from his Psychologist as it was seriously impacting his emotional state. The council told us we were facing an estimated 5 year further wait.

They can't legally give you a 2 bed house as that would be intentional overcrowding but they don't legally need to give you a 3 either.

Thank you. Are you from Northamptonshire?

I did call them and they said exactly what you said to me, so im going to have to apply to be put on the housing register.

Maybe i need to take pictures of my house and look at home swapping and etc
