How does everyone feel about ed tech?

I have 3 children in preschool, yr2 and y5 and I am up to my ears in education app log-ins and accounts and I cannot bear it.

We are a screen-free household so these apps completely damage our efforts once a week and I don’t know what to do.

How does everyone else find them?

Agree- at that age I'd prefer no homework (just reading!) But if not, then paper based. We're not screen free, have TV but try and not have laptop/tablet most days... it's addictive and once they've done their 10 mins homework they want to go on other stuff... the downsides outweigh the benefits. To be honest if you explain to school I think they'll understand. As a teacher I think the move to screen based is partly about trying to encourage families who wouldn't otherwise engage with home learning to do so. If you do screen free stuff I'd be more than happy!
