What is the difference between an expanded noun phrase and a CONCISE expanded noun phrase?

Expanded noun phrases I get. Have been there with DC1 and DC2. But DC3's homework keeps talking about concise expanded noun phrases and I'm flummoxed. Can you even be both concise and expanded at the same time?

Help!

From Google (we are SATs year, so get lots of the nonsense, and I'm hopeless at it) it seems to mean something useful.
So expanding the elephant to the large, grey elephant isn't concise because you would expect an elephant to be large and grey. However a hungry elephant, or an angry elephant would add information, because you wouldn't automatically assume that info.

Some children may write ‘the deep-blue rapidly-raging torrent streamed down the deep, dark, desolate ravine…’ throwing a whole raft of adjectives in. Concise would be ‘the deep blue torrent streamed down the desolate ravine…’
