As a teacher I'm used to hearing all sorts of excuses as to why homework wasn't done!
However I think what happened in my own home tonight trumps them all....
My DD (8) was doing her maths homework, work book on the floor. Darling Cat (Hermie, 3) came in and proceeded to wipe her arse across the open homework book! We shooed her off and my daughter said "I can't finish it now, it stinks, I can smell poo!'
I asked 'What are you going to tell your teacher? 'Miss, I've not finished my homework because the cat came in and wiped her bum across the page!' ??"
We had a merry giggle and she tentatively poked the corner of the book so as to slide it across the rug towards me, for me to gingerly pick it up and sniff it. I can happily report it smelt absolutely fine and teacher will be none the wiser tomorrow 🤣
