Exam Revision - Boys

My 13 year old is driving me demented. He has end of year exams coming up and the results of these dictate groups for GCSE sets etc. He is a bright lad but just hates revision and anything academic. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get him to do any effective work? I have tried the half an hour in the morning/evening. I have tried watching documentaries to get him a better idea on his history subject. I just don’t think it makes any difference. He just wants to go out and work on the farm all day. Trying to get through to him that he needs his Maths, English and Science to move forward to college is so hard. I am not a pushy parent but I do know his class peers are working really hard for these exams, and my son will be left behind if he keeps going like this.

Maybe get a farmer to talk to him about how they need good maths, science and English skills to be successful??

Crop rotation, ammonia fixation, crop/animal disease??? I don’t know much about farming but sometimes knowing the relevance of what you are learning helps...
