Ds' school has 'bought into' the reading eggs programme, which we also trialled via a free five week offer, but I really don't 'get it'? The level the programme has assessed him at has him back doing stuff that he did two years ago in reception (he's in yr2 and 6 yrs old)! It doesn't bear any resemblance to the reading scheme books he's reading really well and confidently?? What is it all about? Am I missing something, or is it just a bit rubbish? (The final straw was when the ant starts talking in an Australian accent???)
