The questions we are not certain on are

ab + b + 3ab

I can't decide if the correct answer is 4ab + b or if it is 4a + 5b.

Then another one we are not sure about is

3 (x - 2) = 9.

I think it might be
3x - 6 = 9
3x = 9 + 6
3x = 15
X = 5

TIA from a slightly embarrassed Mum who used to be good at maths but has clearly forgotten it all!!!

I would say 4ab + b and your second one is right

4ab + b

And x = 4

TheMysteriousJackelope · 21/03/2017 18:06

Is the first one asking you to simplify the expression? In which case it will be b + 4ab.

The second one is (in excruciating detail)
3(x-2) = 9
3x - 6 = 9
3x -6 +6 = 9 + 6
3x + 0 = 15
3x/3 = 15/3
x = 5

Oh wait! I mean 5! So yes, you are correct.
