Ours get a book to read each work and a project every half term - something like a collage about their theme this term.

We had reading book and a couple of mini projects in term 2 and 3 -one was to make a model minibeast and the other was to talk to an older person about what life was like when they were little and either write or draw about it. No 'formal' weekly homework.

Only daily reading and practising writing letters/numbers. I think those struggling with phonics get some extra bits to practise at home

We have 2 books daily. 5 mins of phonics words and 5 spellings each week.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 03/06/2013 21:01

We get a book a week, words to practice each week ( this began as sounds and letters).

We also get a homework pack every holiday although this time we had to find out some facts.

My Dc in yr 2 has to read and do spellings but never gets holiday homework.

Two books a day? That seems a lot.

wheredidiputit · 03/06/2013 21:55

I know. But DD2 would bring home the book boxes everyday if she could.

She is 5 and takes her own phonics dictionary & normal dictionary to school with here everyday. She LOVES books.

Oh in that case that is lovely. I was like that. We get a story and a 'reading' book.
