How can I find home edders in my area ?

Hi, I'm seriously considering home educating my 5 year old daughter.
I'd like to find other home ed familys in my area to meet up etc. My daughter is an only child and I don't drive, so by biggest worry is that she won't be able to make friends etc. If we could regulally meet other parents and children, that would be great.
I've looked on the internet but can't find anything in our area. I'm not sure where I would find out? Thanks.
