hi

What do you use to teach cursive writing? Can you recommend any good books? i remember year and years and years ago practising in a special ruled book by tracing and then copying quotes out. Do these still exsist?

thanks for your help

I make my own worksheets with a block of text in cursive font and rows of lines below with a dotted line between to mark the half-way point. You can adjust the size to suit the child's handwriting style/size just by changing the font size.

Ds gets bored easily with the sort of handwriting sentences you usually get in these things so I make them according to his current interest. We had the whole Bionicle history for a few months which I downloaded paragraph by paragraph from Wikipedia. We're on Doctor Who now .

I can send you a template if you like.

Have you tried getting a tray of sand and getting your DC to do it with his/her finger first before moving onto worksheets.
