Not for me for my friend who's thinking of going down this route with her little dd. She's struggling to fond any info. her dd is due to start school in Sept but will be the youngest (30th aug birthday) so she wants to know a bit more about it before then.

cheers x

There are plenty in Stockport - 47 families belong to an association of home edders. I'm not one of them though and don't know how you'd get hold of them. Maybe google Stockport and Home Educating?

There are several (very active) local groups including Stockport and Macclesfield. I can put you in touch with them if you can contact me off board. I tried to contact you offboard but it says I must pay £5!!!!! Perhaps you have already done this and can contact me without parting with more cash. We try to keep the lists word of mouth only to avoid snoopers. People need to prove themselves as genuine people intending to home educate rather than just having a passing or journalistic interest. Sorry to be all secretive!

There is also a hopelessly out of date list of groups here www.education-otherwise.org/localgroups.htm

If your friend can get onto the nearest one listed to where she is then there will inevitably be someone on the Greater Manchester, Stockport, Macclesfield (and others) lists who can point her in the right direction.

If your friend joins now, she will be having way too much fun to think about sending her child to school!
