So all you home eders where do you get your exercise books from?

I'm finding it impossible to buy exercise books with blank at the top and ruled(pref wide but I'll take anything)below,or even blank/ruled alternative pages.

These just appeared when I was teaching in school, have searched everywhere to no avail. Would like to start doing some journal writing with my dc at home.

WH Smiths do them, think they are called project books. Try a bigger store, they're in the same section as photo albums weirdly. Come in A5 and A4 sizes.

Wilkinsons and Tescos often have pads of paper with a blank top half (for pictures) and wide spaced lines at the bottom

School surplus (fab website full of stuff I drool over) have exercise books but smallest ruled spaces I can find are 15mm - but thats alot better than 6mm which they also sell!

I had this problem too. The Works sell a pad of A4 paper like that, which I use and then staple together if the DDs are making books, or you could put them in a file for journalling?

I found when looking online that I had to buy them in bulk, which was annoying.

This is going to be the most useless piece of advice ever, so sorry in advance(!). We went to Austria last summer and the department stores stock the most fantastic range of exercise books you've ever seen, starting at prices from around 20p. We bought quite a few, but not enough! I think we might go back specifically to get more! Most are by a company (Formati, I think) who sadly don't supply to this country (I went so far as to visit their website!). But if you ever go to Germany, Austria or Switzerland, or know anyone going, get them to get you some. My two girls were begging to write in them.

I can only assume that schoolchildren in these countries have to supply their own books, as I've never seen so many.
