Hi does anyone know of any exam centres around the NorthWest? I found 1 centre but the wanted £156 just for 1 exam.

Have you tried emailing all the independent schools in your area. I did this but nowhere near you. It is a bit of a slog, but you should end up with a few you could use.

Which board are you looking for?

Thanks. Have rang round a few of the colleges & have emailed 1. We've not decided which board, I thought we'd find somewhere that would be willing to take us & go from there.

I emailed Edexcel and asked for a list of their exam centres for Private Candidates, some of which were helpful and some not.

You could ask the boards such as AQA etc for centres.

Was the £156 a specialised centre or a school?I had to pay for the exam then invigilator costs because DS was the only one doing it so paid around £130. If your DC is doing it with a school then it should be much less than £156.

The exam itself is only about $35 plus £25 odd administration fee, so many places just charge around £60.

It was a Grammar school, I'm not fussy where the centre, that was just the 1st one we came across that would take us.
Have emailed Edexel but they weren't very helpful.
