How to put pupils into GCSE public exams?

DD1 has finally agreed her to re-take her GCSE English but the school will only allow her to do so if she goes back to sit with year 11 pupils. Head of English has said it is now too late in the year to do this and does not fit with the A2 timetable. I have found one organisation on the web which offers distance learning GCSE English. How would she sit the exams? I'm hoping you clever HE people might know the answer.

She will need to sit as a private candidate. You will need to find an examination centre prepared to take her. If you contact the exam board and ask them, they should be able to give you a list of exam centres prepared to do this and you will then have to contact their exams officers direct.

Thanks. That helps. Now I need to find which boards are studying which Shakespeare plays. I know AQA is twelfth night.
