Thinking of starting a petition/campaign re cost of exams

Okay it’s half three in the morning here so bear with me 😂 but does anyone else think the cost associated with taking things like GCSEs for home educated kids is totally ridiculous? I’m not at that stage for my children yet, but looking about it send that paying over £100 per exam is deemed normal, and sometimes people are paying a lot more than that! And taking some exams at all is extremely difficult eg art/PE.

Would a campaign to get the government to either subsidise the cost or lean on schools/colleges to offer more exams to external candidates be a good idea?

Completely agree - if you're looking at £100 you're doing well - ours were £180 per exam and it goes up each year!

@EMary12345 wow that’s just mad right? What with the schools bill this week I’m really hoping that this comes up - I think it’d make a big difference if exams could be much more “available” than they are at the moment.
