6th form/level 3 entry into colleges/schools

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been through this, esp if in SE London. My eldest will take 7 GCSEs/iGCSEs in June, mix of private candidate and p/t college. He’s applying to 6th forms now but doesn’t really have ‘official’ predicted grades as he would if at school: college are a bit disengaged and he’s studying mostly privately. He’s thinking of putting down his own best guesses. What are others doing?

(asking esp if in SE London because we’re also a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of schools - some of whose deadlines he’s already missed - and colleges locally)

What are his ‘best guesses’ based on? Has he say mocks in any format?

From doing past papers under exam conditions.

He ended up applying for a gazillion 6th forms and has some offers including one he really wants, so it’s working out. Definitely not something I’d realised though, that predicted grades would be so significant.
