Biology AS level

Hi, I would appreciate any advice regarding doing AS Biology as a private student. My child's school only offers A Level Biology to those who got 9/ 8 and my child got a 7. My child wants to do Biology so we thought doing the 1 Year course would be an option. Any recommendations on where to register and tutors? Thank you.

DD did an A level in Biology in around 9 months independently last year, it was via a company called Oxbridge learning but apart from registering her for exams and her Practicals they weren't much use. We also got her a tutor for the last couple of months.
She did quite badly in the exam and I was advised on here by a couple of teachers that Biology is one of the worst A levels to try and do on your own, its to do with having to answer the questions in a very specific way.
I appreciate that you are talking about an AS Level but DD worked really hard and was always a straight A student but her exam result was far below what we all expected.

Hey, My child really struggled with A level Biology as well. We found a tutor from I Tutor Club. The Tutor's are all experienced secondary school teachers, who can share a lot of exam advice . she went from a C to A, within a year. Hope that helps

Have a look to see if southwest sciences do it plus my DD is using “uplearn” to try increase her grade as she nearly failed her AS level but has been allowed to stay on the course at college this year her predicted grade was higher based on interim testing. It’s not an easy A level.
