I thought I might use them for counting, adding etc.

What else do you use for counting? Except for real life opportunities of course.

Thanks

Oh, I don't just mean counting, I mean adding, taking away, multiplication etc.

Buttons and money.

I also like using Cuisinaire Rods

You can get beads and all sorts of other wonderful things from Opitec
I love Opitec!

Tesco, Morrisons, Asda. They are in the candle section. We use them for arithmetic, too. We use different colours for tens and units, etc. My children like using them because they look nice
We also use cuisenaire rods. Something like these

Thank you, you two. I've had a quick look at at Opitec which does look interesting and needs a good browse! Yesterday I had a look round in town and found some beautiful ones for about £1.97 each!! Back to the internet I think. thanks again. Sorry Juule but I am morally opposed to Tesco and Asda - not sure about Morrisons. thanks for your responses.
