Have you considered appealing? Lots of help and info. on here about the process. We did a successful appeal last year.

Hi narkymom

Have you found the main HE websites?
Education otherwise The largest HE organisation.

HE-UK -Brilliant (imho) independent website.

then there is HE-Special Needs For families who home educate children with special educational needs.

Home Education in the UK is the other independent website that I would recommend.
Together all of these websites will lead you to everything you need to know about home education in the UK. All sorts of resources and information can be obtained for little cost from the internet.

There are three other threads here that will be of help.

have a look at the threads;
'Books on Home education', 'How to deregister a child' and 'Finding other home educators'

I'll bump them up now.

And when you have read all of those, if you have any more questions-and I'm sure you will have please do ask away.

regards
Julie

Is it for Reception , if so when does your ds become school age (you could keep him home until after he turns 5) as perhaps you could hold out for a place by goign on a waiting list - families may move or go private. What are the alternatives , any decent small schools a drive away who may need numbers?

Is the one you have been allocated really that bad ie have you visited and spoken to the Head rather than just hearsay. Was your application realistic , did you meet their basic criteria or did you try to avoid this one even though it was the closer .

Oh -I kinda assumed that it was a secondary school you didn't get into-as that has been in the news.

If your child is very young there is another website that would be suitable
Muddle Puddle A website especially for parents who home educate children young children. There is also a support list for families with young children
