Can anybody advisee me on books? Reading lists? The teacher is not very helpful yet, and we are going abroad in 3 weeks.
My son is on stage 2 on the Oxford Reading three, where can I buy the rest of the series?

You cna get them from Amazon , Waterstones etc but they cost a fair bit and he may make sudden jumps in progress which mean you'll waste money. Where are you going , there may be an English library, someone with a business teaching English to native Englsih speaking kids who would lend them and Amazon deliver abroad. Are you planning to return to UK system ?

Will you have access to the internet and a printer? If so, you could use Phonics International for your reading/writing/spelling

www.phonicsinternational.com

This is a high quality synthetic phonics programme. Unit 1 (out of 12 units) is free to download (registration needed) with no commitment to purchase further units. N.B. The Sounds Book activity sheets are the core of the programme and they include guidance on every sheet right through the programme.

The programme is complete with passages for reading but IMO should be supplemented by a set of decodable books such as Songbirds.
