Stimming, SEND issues

Dd is in Year 5 at the moment. She stims at home constantly (pacing and flapping) and struggles massively at school.

We had a conversation with the HT and SENCO, they've not been able to offer anything more than the fidget toys which really don't help her. She feels stressed and frustrated if she can't stim during the day. I'm guessing unless we have a specialist school we are going to find this at most mainstream schools.

We have HE before as a temporary measure while we found DD a new school. I found HE hard as I'm on my own and have other dcs, I also work.

I'd be grateful for advice and any resources for HE with a SEND child. She's on a waiting list for diagnosis but the school are sure she is neurodivergent.

At the moment she's really struggling with the lack of stimming in school and socially feels unable to cope. She's made friends but says she is confused about the playground games. I've spoken to the teachers but they say she seems okay.

Have you tried posting this in your local home ed group? You will probably get a lot more information that way, especially about what is available locally. There is also a national home ed Facebook group for single parents which you might find useful.
