What do you do for work?

Interested in hearing different models of how you can make HE work with two parents who are in employment and want to continue with careers. Part time is an option for both of us.

Also interested in what groups etc you do to supplement what you do at home please. DD is nearly 3 and on the asd pathway and we already take her to a few groups but she refuses to interact with the other children and only wants to play with adults. She is academically bright but has a speech delay (due to motor control issues rather than delayed communication skills) and we are wondering about home Ed for the infant years (4-7). TIA.

Also I realised I sound wanky saying that a 3 year old is academically bright, what I mean is that she does not have a cognitive development delay and she is very interested in “academics” and knows the alphabet, letter sounds, counting, shapes, colours etc.

I also forgot to say (very tired, baby brain etc) that despite my best efforts she is not a forest school/Montessori type at all. She hates mud and dirt and doesn’t know what to do with herself during free play. She is much better with a very structured routine eg craft time, story time, song time.

Hiya, welcome to the tribe 😁

I'm a freelance writer and my husband is an HGV driver. I work as and when needed, he works Friday-Sunday so I could do a more career type job if I wanted and he'd just drop the Friday.

Group-wise, kids with ASD I know have enjoyed indoor parkour, airgun shooting, Minecraft, climbing but I think they're all a bit older than the age range you're thinking of home edding for. Minecraft I think my son started at Y1 age and pre lockdown there was a group where they met in person and all went in the same world on tablets etc.
