Hi, I have recently deregistered my ds from his primary school.

He wasn’t been bullied and school wasn’t awful but he just found it hard to get help in the classroom and was always overlooked in the rewards system. Our relatives are very against home Ed though and feel that he would have been better staying in school because socially he loved his friends.

I’m now hoping I made the right choice. My ds is happy to be home Ed and I see that we can follow his interests more this way.

Just before I withdrew my ds the school had sprung an assessment on the children which he found hard and was quite demoralised by. I had no idea about the assessment and that he’d done badly in it until the day we de-registered.

We home educate our kids, and it's great! There are loads of groups and activities in our area. If you are on Facebook try and find the home ed group for your local area so you can meet other home edders. Socialisation really isn't an issue, there is a big home ed community and my daughters have lots of friends. Smile
