My ds is 7 and has autism. although he is on the higher end of the scale the school has said that they are struggling to cope with him. as a result he is now at home until lunchtime. We are trying to teach him at home but he hates english. Can anyone reccomend a book that would make english fun?

when you say english do you mean grammar?

cos... the best way to learn english is to apeak it, and the best way to learn to write is to want to write something, and the best way to learn to read is so have something you want to read... :-)

If he likes things such as Transformers, there are some good titles for emerging readers on sale in WH Smith.

They are from the 'I Can Read' series.

ISBN 978-0-00-725108-7.

However, your son should be getting support at school to enable him to cope full time, if that is what you want.

Has he got an IEP?
